Do you want to stay in Spain for more than 90 days but do not plan to make any real estate investment or work in our country? In that case, you must have a temporary residence permit known as a non lucrative visa.

Why obtain a non-profit visa in Spain?

The non lucrative visa in Spain is intended only for non-EU foreigners who can afford their stay without working in our country.

As it is a temporary residence permit in Spain, the non lucrative visa has limited effectiveness in time. In its initial concession, it only enables it to legally reside for 1 year, and can be renewed for biennia. Once the residence in our country has reached 5 years, you will have the possibility of applying for a permanent residence visa in Spain.

Unlike what happens with other residence permits in Spain (eg: golden visa), this visa does not require investments or activities in our country. You should bear in mind that this residence visa does not allow working in Spain. What you will be allowed are paid internships as a student and economic activities in other countries.

What are the requirements for Spanish non-profit residence?

Administrative laws demand up to twelve requirements for non lucrative residency. If we had to extract the most important ones, they would be the following:

  • Proof of sufficient income or savings to pay for the stay in Spain.
  • Prove that you have a place to reside in our country.
  • Proof of private health insurance.
  • Criminal certificate.

Completing all the requirements for spanish non lucrative visa can be very cumbersome and errors in its completion would lead to the denial of the residence visa in Spain. Maximize your chances of obtaining it by putting yourself in the hands of GM Lawyers. Contact with us for more info.
